I'm ENGAGED!

So Christmas eve I finished having dinner at my grandparents and my boyfriend Garren (scratch that- fiance!) wanted to come home and check on our puppy. We let her out and feed her and then he starts telling me how he wants to spend the rest of his life with me.. and I say well me too and he says really? (and I don't think anything of it because this happens all the time, haha... ) and I say yes really... and he says really??.. and goes down on one knee right in the middle of my dining room.... I was in SHOCK! I was thinking in my head.. get up silly.. what are you doing on the floor?... then I realized he was PROPOSING! It's kind of a blur because I was so excited, but I definitely screamed yes and tackled him. Then I started crying and asked him how he'd kept it from me.. .. ..
And immediately got in the car so I could go show my best friend Whitney!

I'm very excited and I can't wait to be his wife! I'm a lucky girl!

Robbie Lo, soon to be successful.

My friend Robin just recently graduated and asked me to do some pictures for her. She's a very talented girl and I am sure she is going to be quite the success at whatever she does. I'm going to miss her in Carbondale!!

A Weekend in Murphysboro

This past weekend I spent sunrise to sunset in one of the most homely and beautiful cities of Southern Illinois. We had mentors from all over the U.S. come in and work with the photojournalist at SIUC. It was an incredible and exhausting weekend. Here are some of the images I captured while I attended the weekend workshop in Murphysboro.
