Sweet Saturdays

Ah, it is such a beautiful Saturday!  I am loving the taste of Spring!  Monday it snows... and by the end of the week - 70s!  :) Crazy!

We're headed to a craft fair today... maybe we'll find a couple more last minute vendors for our celebration giveaway - Although the line up is PRETTY SWEET already! :) Over $400 worth of prizes... even I will be envious of the winner :)

We're going to open it up TOMORROW so keep your eye out for it!

Open House

We had a successful open house for our up & coming business R&G Photography (www.rngphotos.com, www.facebook.com/rngphotos) with some of our friends.  We took some fun photos, talked about our business, gave away some free stuff, ate, and most importantly - caught up with each other!  All our lives are so busy... we have to have a big event to see each other!  :)  Here are a few photos from the event:

I am very, very excited about these new photos from our studio R&G Photography!  We worked with the cutest little boy, Drew - and the pictures are only a morsel of his cuteness!  I wanted to share a few with you all!

It's March already?

Oh goodness gracious!  Has it really been that long since I've blogged?! 

I'm sure you get this a lot, but it's SO hard to remember to blog.  Scout's honor - I will try harder!  :)

In the last few months (ok, ok it was almost a year ago when I blogged.... whoops!).. I have graduated, started my own ("Official") business R&G Photography, and got married to the love of my life!  I've also traveled to Vegas for WPPI 2011 (last week, which is why I'm inspired to blog again!) - this photography conference was one of the most educational, amazing, helpful things I've ever attended!  SO worth the investment if you are a professional photog!

We have started a lot of fun things for our business - one is The Birthday Club for past clients of ours!!  If you have a child between the ages of 2 -16, sign them up for our Birthday Club and they will get a FREE photo shoot the month of their birthday.  Just send an email to rasnow@gmx.com with the child's name, age, and birth date!

And if you're not already a client of ours - give me a call or shoot me an email!  We'd love to work with you!  Your kids can be part of the club!

Graduating College

Saturday I'm graduating with my Bachelor's in Photojournalism!  I'm excited to begin my new life without school work - I can finally focus on my wedding and my photography business!  Two of my favorite things... Yay! :)

I'll be sad to leave WSIU and the Forest Street gang and all the photogs and the ABCM House, but excited for what's ahead. It's bittersweet.

Another day in NYC

A lesson about New York cheese cake:
Don't buy it in Korea Town.
DO buy it at Jr's.
It's delicious.

Yesterday was Garren and I's photo shoot day. We had a lot of fun going around the city with Spencer- but first we did some in studio photos.

Garren found a guitar store and this magical music store down on Bleeker St.

This rainbow cake may look cool- but I bet you it tastes just like the cookie and the tart I bought there.. gross and lemony.. chocolate chip cookies and strawberry tarts should not taste lemony.. lol. Again- I recommend Jr's and not this place on Bleeker St.

Here's a picture looking Uptown at the Empire State Building.. it was nice having the tallest building in the city as a guide to get back to our hotel! :)

Oh and one final thought:
"free" comedy shows are never free.. and the comedians are probably pretty awful. Garren and I were the only ones laughing and only because it was so bad.

THE BIG APPLE - my small self.

I'm having a blast in NYC - but I am finding it harder than I thought to make pictures. There are SO many distractions, it's hard to focus. 

Also, a note about food in NYC: they don't have crab rangoon! Irena (a girl I work with at 5 West Studios) and I ordered chinese and she had never even heard of it!

Life is good. NYC is calling.

I've neglected my blog, but my photography is going strong. I'm headed to New York City Sunday to start working with Spencer Lum of 5 West Studios (www.5weststudios.com) for a week long externship. I'm excited for multiple reasons.
1. I love weddings
- He is a wedding photographer and I'm hoping to come back with some new insight on how to shoot a wedding.
2. I have ALWAYS wanted to go to NYC.
-The shopping, the food, the night life, the sights, the people, everything!
3. Opportunity
- I'll have tons of photo opportunities and if you know me very well at all you know that means Rachel
heaven. :)
